The Pioneer Indian Museum is thrilled to announce the completion of a new storage building near our main museum building. We had a winding path through the space previously used for meetings, demonstrations and gathering functions. It had become a storage area for donated items not on exhibit. It will be great to have space for demonstrations when we have school tours again!

The new building space will allow us to easily move items from exhibit to storage efficiently and safely, each in its own space. It has been constructed with a concrete floor, metal exterior, metal roof and good insulation. A roll-up door is very helpful for moving things in and out.

We considered several possible types of building, but decided a constructed insulated building would be the most efficient and long lasting. We applied for grants from several foundations and several individuals recognized our need for teaching and meeting space. We thank Gosselin Construction who came through for us in a big way over the span of two years. In fall 2024, moving the two small buildings and pouring the foundation and retainer wall. In the fall of 2025, the structure was built, roofed and closed in and shelves added to increase storage space.

We would like to recognize those foundations and individuals for granting us the funds to enable this project that helps us to continue our work here at the museum.
