January 7, this Saturday, is St. Distaff’s Day- a time to celebrate the return to normal work after the 12 days of Christmas. While there is no actual Saint Distaff, the day celebrates those that use the distaff tool for spinning wool and flax into thread. In honor of all the spinners and weavers, come join a
Spin-In
at the South Umpqua Pioneer/Indian Museum in Canyonville.
Feel free to bring your chair, wheel and distaff to spin yarn and tales together. Learn about this timeless craft and enjoy other displays of our local history.
Time is 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.
