The Pioneer/Indian Museum held an open house this past Friday and Saturday with demonstrations of pioneer and Indian life. We had volunteers who demonstrated their skills in basket making, spinning wool, making wagon wheels, blacksmithing and crosscut saw demonstrations. There were talks about what tribal living was like at the Plank House and a display of bead making. In the Pickens-Matthews Building we had talks about daily pioneer life.
One hundred ten Canyonville School kids came Friday and enjoyed the various demonstrations and then sampled the very tasty fry bread.
